Passive Fire Protection Auckland

Auckland-based passive fire installers for new builds, fit-outs and existing buildings. From a single fire collar failed by your IQP to a full fire stopping package on a commercial fit-out, we install tested systems, tag and photograph every item, and hand over the as-built register and PS3 that Auckland Council and your IQP expect.

Passive fire, done properly, anywhere in Auckland

Halt Fire is based in Auckland and most of our work is here: apartment buildings and body corporates in the CBD and inner suburbs, commercial and industrial units on the North Shore, retail and hospitality fit-outs, schools, clinics and warehouses from Albany to Pukekohe. Travel inside Auckland is built into our rates, so an Otahuhu job is priced the same way as one in Grafton.

Most Auckland enquiries start with a compliance problem: an IQP has refused a Form 12A, Auckland Council has issued a Notice to Fix, or a fit-out needs its fire separations closed before Code Compliance. We fix the defect the inspector actually raised, with a tested system that matches the substrate and the service, and we document it so the same item never comes up again.

Since October 2024 we have installed and recorded more than 5,000 penetration, joint and opening seals, the large majority of them across Auckland. Every one has a before and after photo, a tag on the wall and a line in the as-built register.

How it works

How an Auckland job runs

1

Send what you have

The IQP report, drawings, photos or a description. We will tell you within a day whether it needs a site visit or can be quoted from the information.

2

Clear quote

Itemised by penetration, opening or joint, with the tested system named. Auckland travel is built in. Small jobs carry a minimum call-out, which we state up front.

3

Installed and tagged

Our own installers, tested systems, no improvising. Each item photographed before and after and tagged on the wall.

4

Documentation the same week

As-built register, photos, data sheets and PS3, ready for your IQP, council or main contractor.

FAQs

Passive fire in Auckland, common questions

Do you cover all of Auckland?
Yes. Our installers work from the Hibiscus Coast to Pukekohe and out to Waiheke. Travel within mainland Auckland is built into our rates. Island work carries a fixed travel line that we state in the quote.
My IQP has refused the Form 12A. How fast can you fix it?
On average we quote a BWOF defect list within two to three working days of receiving the IQP report. Installation is then scheduled around access and materials, and if there is a date on a Notice to Fix we schedule to it.
Is there a minimum charge for small Auckland jobs?
Yes. A single fire collar or smoke seal repair still involves travel, set-up, tested materials and documentation, so small jobs carry a minimum call-out. We state it in the quote before you commit.
Do you work with body corporates and property managers?
Most of our Auckland remediation work is for body corporates, property managers and building compliance companies such as Prestige Building Compliance and Centurion Management Services. We can deal directly with the committee, the manager or the IQP.
Do you do new builds as well as existing buildings?
Yes. Recent Auckland new-build and fit-out work includes the Franklin Day Surgery in Pukekohe, housing in Northcote and commercial units in Rosedale. We install to the consented fire report and issue the PS3.
Which Auckland councils and inspectors do you deal with?
Auckland Council for consents, BWOF and Notices to Fix, and the IQPs on the Auckland Council register who inspect fire separations. Our documentation is set out so both can check it without chasing us.
