Passive Fire Protection Auckland
Auckland-based passive fire installers for new builds, fit-outs and existing buildings. From a single fire collar failed by your IQP to a full fire stopping package on a commercial fit-out, we install tested systems, tag and photograph every item, and hand over the as-built register and PS3 that Auckland Council and your IQP expect.

Passive fire, done properly, anywhere in Auckland
Halt Fire is based in Auckland and most of our work is here: apartment buildings and body corporates in the CBD and inner suburbs, commercial and industrial units on the North Shore, retail and hospitality fit-outs, schools, clinics and warehouses from Albany to Pukekohe. Travel inside Auckland is built into our rates, so an Otahuhu job is priced the same way as one in Grafton.
Most Auckland enquiries start with a compliance problem: an IQP has refused a Form 12A, Auckland Council has issued a Notice to Fix, or a fit-out needs its fire separations closed before Code Compliance. We fix the defect the inspector actually raised, with a tested system that matches the substrate and the service, and we document it so the same item never comes up again.
Since October 2024 we have installed and recorded more than 5,000 penetration, joint and opening seals, the large majority of them across Auckland. Every one has a before and after photo, a tag on the wall and a line in the as-built register.

Built around how Auckland Council and IQPs work
Fire separations sit on your compliance schedule as SS15/3 (and smoke separations as SS15/5). Your IQP inspects them annually and cannot sign the Form 12A while critical defects remain. Here is how we fit into that.
- 1
We fix the defect the IQP raised
Send us the IQP report or the defect list. We quote against the actual items, with the tested system for each, so the re-inspection is a formality.
- 2
Notice to Fix deadlines
If Auckland Council has issued a Notice to Fix or an infringement for an overdue BWOF, we schedule around the date on the notice and give you the documentation to close it out.
- 3
Documentation Auckland Council accepts
As-built register, before and after photos, technical data sheets and a PS3 producer statement, in the format we hand to council on consented work across Auckland.
- 4
New builds and fit-outs
For consented work we co-ordinate with the fire engineer and the main contractor, install to the tested detail and issue the PS3 for Code Compliance.
- 5
Tagged on the wall
Every seal carries a Halt Fire tag with the job sheet number, system and installer, so the next IQP can trace it without opening a ceiling.
- 6
One point of contact
Damyn quotes it, plans it and signs off on it. You are not handed between an estimator, a supervisor and a subcontractor.
What we install in Auckland

How an Auckland job runs
Send what you have
The IQP report, drawings, photos or a description. We will tell you within a day whether it needs a site visit or can be quoted from the information.
Clear quote
Itemised by penetration, opening or joint, with the tested system named. Auckland travel is built in. Small jobs carry a minimum call-out, which we state up front.
Installed and tagged
Our own installers, tested systems, no improvising. Each item photographed before and after and tagged on the wall.
Documentation the same week
As-built register, photos, data sheets and PS3, ready for your IQP, council or main contractor.
